      The 2023 Tucson PHEV has all the advantages of a hybrid and some advantages of an all-electric SUV. I purchased this vehicle in October 2025 at 35,800 miles and has 44,200 miles as of 4/1/2026. In my experience: -the Tucson can go 39 miles on battery alone, in combination city/highway driving, when weather is warm or mild. In cold weather, the gas engine turns on periodically for heat. -at public Level 2 charging stations (with a J1772 outlet), the Tucson gets to full battery charge in 2 to 4 hours. The dash display will estimate the charging time. -Mpg in hybrid mode is as advertised in warm and mild weather. -Mpg in hybrid mode is a bit less than advertised - so low 30s - in cold weather. -Reliability has been good - oil changes, a tire rotation and alignment service are the only maintenance needed so far. -compared to other hybrid SUVs, a unique feature of the Tucson PHEV is the traditional automatic transmission. Unlike a CVT, the driver can feel the gear shifts with the 6-speed automatic - the feel is the same in hybrid and EV modes.

      After looking at countless compact SUVs, the 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid was the one that truly stood out. It has noticeably better storage space than most vehicles in its class, and the interior feels surprisingly luxurious for the price with a clean, comfortable cabin design. I’m also 6'4" and fit extremely comfortably, which I couldn’t say about the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR‑V when I tested them. It’s also just a great car to drive, smooth, quiet, and well-rounded for everyday life, and there are some great deals out there right now; I was able to get 0% financing for 60 months with a 90-day deferred payment, which made the decision even easier.

      This is my first SUV, and I purchased it brand new. I am particularly impressed by the spacious interior and the advanced technology it offers. Driving in this vehicle is incredibly comfortable, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
